The Best Loaded Queso Nachos Recipe

Queso is a creamy white cheesy sauce. Use whatever Mexican or cheese you like to make the sauce in this Queso Nachos Recipe. Havarti is a easy melting cheese. Suzy likes shredded habanero or pepper jack for this recipe. You can use your favorite chips. Dorito Nacho chips are fun and tasty but whatever tortilla chip you prefer will work. This recipe also is the inspiration for the Nacho Totchos recipe

Queso Nachos

Queso Nachos

On KFYR-TV North Dakota Today morning show #ChefTrevor in Bismarck/Mandan North Dakota showed how he makes a #queso #nachos using #nachocheese Doritos. They looked so yummy!  They inspired Suzy to make her version with what she had on hand.  She didn’t have any cream left so she substituted 1/2 cup sour cream diluted with water.

Ingredients

  • Nachos
  • 3/4 pound ground beef
  • 1 T Cumin
  • 1/2 T Season salt
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
  • Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 Jalapeño chopped
  • 1 cup Cream (1/2 cup sour cream and water can be substituted)
  • 1 cup grated habanero white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Colby Jack or Mexican blend cheese and a little to sprinkle on top
  • Toppings
  • 2 Green onions chopped
  • 1/2 Roma Tomato chopped
  • Also could use
  • Cilantro, avocado, bacon, lettuce, ripe olives
  • Nacho cheese Doritos or your favorite chips

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef add seasonings and no the black beans.
  2. In a small saucepan add Jalapeño and cayenne pepper to the cream,  heat to simmer, heat to simmer, stir in cheeses.
  3. Lay the chips on a 1/4 size baking sheet, top with hamburger/bean mixture.  Pour cheese over top. Sprinkle additional cheese on top, top with your favorite toppings.  Yum! Serves 4

Notes

You can use whichever ground meat you prefer. This would also work good with drained and rinsed canned chicken
