This Nacho Totchos recipe is so yummy! This recipe has been modified from Suzy’s Queso Nachos. This cheesy meaty sauce on the Nacho Totchos can be used on tots, baked potatoes, chips or baked sweet potatoes thinly sliced like chips. You could also put in a slow cooker to keep warm and serve with chips for dipping. However you serve it up, it is sure to be a hit at family mealtime, game time or your next party. This recipe is grandkid approved!
Nacho Totchos
This works great as a meal or as a appetizer. You could keep the sauce warm in a crockpot and bring to a party to serve over chips or as a dip.
Ingredients
- 1 T oil
- 1/2 small onion chopped
- 3/4 pound ground beef or other ground meat of your choice
- 1 T Cumin
- 1/2 T Season salt
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 can green chiles
- 1 can black beans drained and rinsed
- 1 cup half and half cream
- 1 cup grated habanero white cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup reduced fat Mexican blend cheese
- 4 servings of Tater Tots
Instructions
Place Tator Tots on a baking sheet or cast iron skillet and bake according to package
While they are baking in another skillet heat oil
Add onions
Add ground meat
Add seasonings, green chilis, black beans
Add Cream and then cheeses, stir till melt
When tater tots are done, spoon the cheesy mixture of over tater tots
Sprinkle with your favorite toppings, cheese, avocado, diced cooked bacon, cilantro, ripe olives, tomatoes
Notes
You can make the cheesy meat sauce and add as you make smaller servings of tots.
Also the meat sauce can be served over chips or thinly sliced baked sweet potatoess or as a ingredient for a baked potatoe bar
