Microwaved Pumpkin Pie Versus Traditional Pumpkin Pie Episode 1

This is the first show we created to showcase our different styles of cooking. Suzy makes things one way and Sharon makes it another way. Both have different approaches which can be comical. This first video we were not tech savy at all so most of the video will be focused on us and not what we are making. Suzy was trying to navigate a app which would allow switch to cameras which were mutiple iphones and ipads, she does not quite get it down.

Suzy’s Super Fast Microwaved Pumpkin Pie

Suzy's Super fast Pumpkin Pie

Suzy uses a store bought pie crust and microwaves the pie

Prep Time 3 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 3 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can of pumpkin
  • 1 can sweetened condense milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 T flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • dash of ginger & Nutmeg
  • 1 pie crust I used a frozen one same size as my glass dish

Instructions

Remove pie crust from tin and place in a glass pie dish

Prick crust microwave uncovered on high for 4 minutes

Watching carefully the last minute, do not let it brown. Remove crust, it will not be real golden.

In a mixing bowl pour the ingredients , mix well. Pour pumpkin mixture into crust. Put in the microwave uncovered for 4 minutes on high or fill edges just to start to set. Stir cooked edges of pie filling into center. Microwave on high for another 6 minutes. Insert toothpick,if it comes out clean. Remove and cool. If not cook longer checking again after 30 seconds. Repeat till done.

Additional Time 1 hour
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 9" unbaked single pie crust
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 can of pumpkin
  • 1 can of evaporated milk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Prepare pasty

In a large bowl slightly beat the eggs. Add the remaining ingredients and blend well. Pour into pastry and bake for 15 minutes

Reduce heat to 350 degrees & continue baking for 45 minutes or when inserted knife is clean.
